You will notice some changes to the look of this blog – here’s what we’ve done and why.
WordPress is no more. WordPress has served us well but we are changing the hosting of the blog as part of our ongoing upgrade to our www.hubse.com website. I hope you like the new layout – I think it is easier to find the blogs as they are listed in chronological order with latest at the top. You can also search for earlier blogs using the “Category List” or the “Month List” in the box on the right hand side.
We have transferred all the posts and comments from WordPress and you can still comment on earlier blogs here. Posts will be closed for comments on WordPress but it will remain for the time being as more people find this site.
MailChimp – If I have previously emailed you I have taken the liberty to add you to MailChimp. This is a new tool that allows me to email a lot of people in one go. Gmail and our hubse.com mail provider both restrict the number of emails I can send at any one time. These restrictions are in place to limit the amount of spam everyone gets. MailChimp allows you to manage your own subscription and if you no longer want to see my notifications you can easily unsubscribe, or you can email me direct and I will remove you from the list. If you decide to do so I will be sorry to see you go but I understand with the amount of email traffic then you need to be selective. If you are not a demurrage anorak like me you may not find this blog interesting – I really can’t understand why!
Why do I write this blog?
I am often asked why I do this and do I make any money out of it? Most bloggers do it because they enjoy it and some make money out of adverts on the blog. I don’t make money out of adverts and have had to pay a small fee to WordPress to suppress the adverts – I don’t want you detracted from my blog with adverts for holidays, diets and other more dubious products!
I blog because I enjoy it and wanted to create a space for discussion on points of interest in our industry. I am pleased to see the increasing number of people adding their comments. Have a look back at some earlier posts, there are still new comments being added. It is not entirely altruistic though – I do hope that you are interested in the other things I do such as the demurrage software at www.hubse.com and if you want to buy a system please get in touch – we are always happy to give a no obligation demo. I also do lectures and if this encourages you to book on one of my courses or book me for an in house training session then that is good for me too.
