At HubSE we\u2019re always looking at ways to improve the process of getting data into CMS in order to avoid the time and potential errors of keying in data manually.<\/p>

We already have APIs, drag and drop spreadsheet features and a PDF reader to import data such as port event times but we\u2019re delighted to announce the next stage in this development. \u00a0PDFs have transformed the portability of forms (the clue is in the name PDF = Portable Document Format) and we no longer have to wait for the postman or courier to deliver our documents.\u00a0 We get them almost instantaneously generally attached to an email.\u00a0<\/p>

But this leads to the next bottleneck! How can we get the data from a PDF direct into the laytime calculation?\u00a0<\/p>

Our PDF reader does this quite adequately but now with the aid of Artificial Intelligence combined with our own in-depth knowledge of demurrage we can do this much smarter simply by dragging the PDF onto the timesheet panel of CMS.\u00a0 In just a matter of seconds, the system reads the PDF and populates the timesheet panel right before your eyes as if by magic.<\/p>

Behind the scenes the PDF is read and translated into recognisable data that fits our fields.\u00a0 We can do this to timesheets and statements of facts.<\/p>

But we can go much further.<\/p>

If you\u2019re receiving laytime calculations from Owners or counterparties we can read the calculation, populate the data in CMS and complete our own calculation.\u00a0 CMS compares this and validates that the claim value is correct, all in a matter of seconds.<\/p>

This new feature saves the demurrage analyst time and relieves them from one of their \u201cless interesting\u201d tasks and releases their time to spend on the more added value activities.<\/p>
